Other information

Waterford County Library is a Local Authority Library. As such, it has a Local studies Collection, but could not by any means be described as a Family History Resource Centre having neither the staff time or indeed expertise to provide a 'Genealogical Service'. Having said that, the library does hold items of a genealogical nature and indeed actively seeks to build that resource, it being part of the heritage of the County. People do come to 'trace their ancestors' and are provided with as much attention as we can give them i.e. we make the index, microform, journal etc., available, set up any equipment, explain how it works, but they do the work themselves.
