Provided by local Record Office? Yes. �8.50 for a family history enquiry search up to 30 minutes (fee chargeable whether or not information is found). Charge includes up to 4 photocopies or reader printer copies (if information found). Work undertaken on receipt of cheque, made payable to Derbyshire County Council.

5. Census returns

1841-1901 (inclusive) North Derbyshire parishes only. Copies held on microfilm.
Coverage extends to Ripley (south), Hayfield (north), Creswell & Lanwith (east) and New Mills (west). 1891 Census area is further extended to include Belper, Glossop and Ilkeston. Some inconsistencies e.g. Glossop appears in 1841, but not 1851-81, while New Mills not held for 1861, and there are also a few 'unscheduled' holdings of Nottinghamshire & Yorkshire parishes.

  • Chesterfield Churchwardens' Accounts and Vestry Meeting Minutes (microfilm) Accounts 1762-1899, and Meetings 1769-1962, with names of church officers and committee members

  • Kerry, Rev. Charles. Kerry Manuscripts. Microfilm, 12 reels. Contains variety of material relating to parishes where Rev. Kerry was incumbent c.1865-75 (e.g. Puttenham, Surrey, and Topcliffe, Yorkshire). Some Derbyshire information, mainly Morley and Smalley. Includes extracts from parish registers and churchwardens' accounts and family pedigrees, together with items on archaeology, music and folklore. Each volume has an index at the conclusion of the text.
